Job Aid: Searching for Materials by Part Number or Inventory Location

The purpose of this job aid is to detail the utilization of the Search Item and Asset pages within NexsysOne, which can be accessed by DISH employees only. Search Item is used to identify, based on part number, which inventory the materials are currently a part of. Asset is used as the opposite, to see what materials are in the inventory of a specific site or General Contractor.

Search Item

The Search Item function is available in the AssetOne module of NexsysOne. You can use Search Item to search for a part number, excluding the serial number of a serialized item, and find results for which inventories include that part number.

  1. Click Search Item in the AssetOne module

  1. Enter part number in the box at the top left and select the correct part

  1. Results will show information with any parts assigned to an inventory in NexsysOne

    1. Location: Indicates what inventory includes the material

    2. Serial Number: If it is a serialized item, the individual Serial Number is indicated

    3. Asset Tag: If it is a non-serialized item, this will match the Part Number

    4. Part Number: the part number that was searched for

    5. Asset Quantity: Shows the quantity of this part number in this inventory

      1. For serialized items, this will always show one (1)

      2. For non-serialized items, this can show more than one

    6. Item Status: Indicates if the item is in an inventory or waiting to be received into an inventory

      1.  Moved: indicates that the item has already been received to the inventory

      2. In Transit: indicates that the item is waiting to be received into the stated inventory

Asset

The Asset page in NexsysOne is available in the AssetOne module. This can be used to look at an inventory within NexsysOne and identify any parts that are currently a part of that inventory. This can help you to identify what materials have been received to a site or General Contractor, including specific serial numbers.

  1. Click Asset in the AssetOne module

  1. Enter in the name of the inventory you want to look at in the box at the top left side labeled Select Site

    1. Note: While it is labeled as Select Site, you can enter any inventory name including General Contractors and Site IDs

  1. After selecting the correct inventory, results will appear below showing all materials currently located in that inventory inside of NexsysOne

    1. Parent Serial Number: The Parent Serial Number identifies which Cabinet the part is tied to, if it is a component of a Cabinet

    2. Serial Number: If the item is a serialized item, it will have a unique serial number, which identifies it compared to others of the same part number

    3. Asset Tag: If the item is not serialized, this number will show as a unique identifier for the item in the inventory, but may be the same as the Part Number

    4. Part Number: All items have a Part Number identifying what the material actually is.

    5. Asset Quantity: Identifies the number of items for that line in the inventory selected

    6. Last Updated: Shows the date that this material was released from the previous inventory

    7. Last Updated By: Shows the entity that released this material from the previous inventory
